Here comes Copenhagen: As the fraud turns ...
Thursday, December 3, 2009

How climate change "scholars" and politicos will gather with straight faces at next week's United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen is beyond us.

The "science" of "man-made global warming," long thought to be the stuff of cooked theological recipes, is proving to be just that. Leaked e-mails from a prominent British research center leave little doubt of the rampant fraud that's been perpetrated and perpetuated.

Apologists, acolytes and aficionados of global warming were quick to dismiss the release of the e-mails as the work of climate change "deniers." But they've done nothing to credibly dismiss those communications' damning content.

Now comes word that the head of the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University, Phil Jones, has temporarily stepped down pending an investigation. Penn State University climate researcher Michael Mann also has been implicated in data cooking.

But this also is a tale of, as National Review Online opines, conscription of the peer-review process for academic studies -- a closed clique shut out scientifically sound dissent -- and a compliant media that acted more as stenographers than as reporters.

That bad news is that these ministers of social re-engineering are hellbent on re-ordering, if not destroying, the world economy, no matter the facts. The good news is that their steamroller has been slowed. Here's to shutting it down entirely.
