Patrick... which is why I think that any and all option positions taken by companies should be public as they make them. Put the trade right up on the board the moment it happens... "8000 calls sold by XYZ at 2 5/8" That's the only fair way to not judge every trade with suspicion of insider knowledge and intent.

There is no "routine" of writing puts or calls in accordance with publically stated objectives, because puts/calls are a leveraged bet where the advantage is with the company_ because they know what's happening with their business before anyone else does.
