Yep, the credibility of science is on the line. Actually, it's already PAST the line. What's disturbing, is that so seems to be everything else we use to make our decisions.

NASA put its cred on the line (and IMO lost it) with the CFC/Ozone Hole flap. But now we all use less efficient and more expensive refrigerants.

Don't eat eggs. Oops, eggs are ok.

Don't eat pork. Oops, pork is ok, too.

Poll says the president is unpopular, next day a poll says the president is still popular.

There's a shortage of carbon based fuels, unless you count other carbon based fuels.

News channel A says this is what happened, news channel B says something else happened.

Dems say THIS is the truth, Repubs say THAT is the truth.

We no longer seem to have ANY fact-based discussions, everything is now a political discussion. Few seem to care what the facts are, all that counts is what some one/some party/some religion BELIEVES.

Maybe it has always been this way, but I don't think so. I don't know about you, but I don't trust anyone anymore.
