Technically there may have been a conspiracy. You only need two people conspiring to do something for it to technically be a conspiracy. OTOH I agree it wasn't some vast systematic horrible conspiracy that some claim existed.

But having rejected any "vast horrible conspiracy" ideas as unsupported, that doesn't leave us with "it was no big deal". It shows lots of bias, manufactured consensus, severe weaknesses in and confusion about computer models when the whole thing largely rests on computer models, and the destruction of the raw data (even if that really was done for relatively innocent reasons like lack of storage space its still a major problem, and its hard to be strongly confident that the reasons were all so innocent).
