Hello vinod,

You stated:

> A loss of over $100 million in less than a year.

I know that this might be a naive question, but could anyone here, maybe more financially savy, explain to me the possible reasoning behind such a move?

I know that there can be all kinds of simple-minded remarks made to this question, but I would like to hear from a financial perspective what are the *real* possible reasons of why a company would do this ... how are these losses translated to tax implications? How do these get reported against the bottom line? How might this shift numbers in the balance sheets?

I know that many people might come back with sarcasm and jibes, but I'm hoping that someone who can help me better understand this might respond ...
