Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, likened the estate tax to stealing from the dead.

I do not understand how Congress can go ahead without admitting to the fundamental unfairness of this death tax.

It's simply a big pot of money. Politicians want it, and think they can get it. They are nothing but a pack of wolves on a carcass.

The people it belongs to are dead, and the people who should get it are often ill informed. The politicians who want it think they can get it without too much of a fight. Therefore, they want it all the more.
