So I'm sitting here drinking a glass of Perrin & Fils 2007 Cotes Du Rhone Villages. It's a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah and I bought a few bottles of it because the label describes it as having aromas/notes of small berry fruit, licorice and spice.

Call me a licorice lover!!! :-) Not sure I'm finding a lot of the licorice though?? :-/ It's a decent enough bottle of wine, but, being a licorice fan, anyone else ever come across a wine with licorice notes?? I do not recall seeing licorice used to describe the flavor of wine, so this caught my attention and I thought I'd give it a shot.

Peter! I designed and built my own home and I've got a 1000 bottle wine cellar.............yet, sigh, "hanging head in shame", lol, I don't think I've ever had over a 100 bottles in it...........ahhh good intentions, lol. Must be the wife that keeps draining my stock ;-) Maybe one day soon I'll get serious about this wine stuff and get some good selections (thanks to this thread!) to lay down and keep my hands off of for a few years!

I'm the kind of guy that can't yet honestly say that I can discern a $75-$100 bottle of wine from the $20-30 bottles that I normally drink. But hey, I'm willing to practice ;-)
