Win - posts and headlines like these might pass for concrete news events and thoughtful analysis on Dale Baker's far left wing board, but in the real world, they represent nothing but fearmongering. Deny the obvious if you like, it only makes you look more foolish. A huge fraud has been perpetuated and those on the naive side of the equation have been exposed. Listing them would read like a who's who of the View From the Center Board. Face it, Dale Baker and his forum of hard left wingers has not served you well.
BTW, don't bother asking another idiotic question. I've got more entertaining things to do than point out the obvious in post after post. These posts represent only a sample of your history.
My apology to the board, I should have listened to ManyMoose the other day and just ignored you.

Win deep thought... GLOBAL WARMING is not a "media induced crisis", except in the eyes of random conservative propagandists. There is real science there, and real reasons to expect things to behave badly. If you want to learn some science beyond what's allowable on the WSJ editorial page, you might want to look at the data on historical atmospheric CO2 concentrations versus current levels, and how the historical levels correlate with other climate measures.

Win pretending the NY Times answers all questions Just in passing, an article from today's NYT, so the conservatives can throw in some "NYT is biased" whining along with the usual "GLOBAL WARMING doesn't exist" "science". Always good to tie things together, I say.

[ Elsewhere in the ideas issue, this quick counterview on GLOBAL WARMING. William Speed Weed is an odd name, but he does give a scientific reference. In full. ] What is known is that levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have risen a lot in the past century, and that this rise correlates very nicely with the increased consumption of fossil fuels. On the climatic front, there is a lot more evidence than "a slight rise in the GLOBAL temperature", such as receding glaciers and thinning polar icecaps. Doesn't much matter, though, the orthodox Republican response line evolved smoothly from "it doesn't exist" to "it's natural', and I'm sure it will just as easily move on to "it's a good thing" if that becomes necessary. |
