<Stop Pretending That Obama Hasn't Been Consistent on Afghanistan>

Reminds me of "Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds".

The Russians spent 9 years supporting and and defined "win" as having their Marxist flavor of a better Afghanistan. Eventually they negotiated a cease fire with various leaders so they could just exit.

According to Wiki, between December 25, 1979 and February 15, 1989, a total of 620,000 soldiers served with the forces in Afghanistan over the 9 year window.

In your article Obama was quoted as saying "This is a war that we have to win." Win what? What does a win in Afghanistan look like?
