At some point during the coverage the last couple of days, a statistic flashed on the screen that between Iraq and Afghanistan we have over 37000 dead and wounded soldiers. My ex father-in-law was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. A good man, he returned from Viet Nam shattered and proceeded to crawl into the bottle for decades. He finally sobered up a few years ago and was doing well until the after-effects of Agent Orange caught up to him. A life wasted, and for what?
