Over the last 12 months or so, it really has been driven home to me just how much liberals distrust the market. Pretty sweeping judgment there. My own version if that is liberals, generally, subscribe to the notion that the role of the state is twofold here: (1) provide a safety net; and (2) cushion the exaggerated swings of the economy (via Fed actions and regulations)
