I saw an ad last night by the Gas Council talking about how NG supplements alternative energy. That is actually not a bad viewpoint and my investments include stakes in NG, wireless technology and a variety of other technological solutions. I don't own oil, but I wouldn't say the oil party is over as much as energy is under consolidation. NG producers are being driven out of business by manipulation. People with money will pick the goods from ashes.

When I was in school 30 years ago the walking around number was that the US had a 300 year supply of natural gas. When the Russians drove the deepest well ever cut they struck metamorphic rocks and water that boiled with hydrogen. Yes, that's right, hydrogen! We are living on the oxidized surface of a 7900 mile in diameter reducing environment that is both thermally energetic and potentially reactive with the atmosphere. What that means is that it might be that oxygen levels would drop if we continue with combustion of any kind. But that is the NEXT problem, not the current problem. That is at least 300 years out and can be partially fixed by making sure reacted components are recycled into the environment.

Energy companies will make money with oil until they can't and then they will switch to something else that they can corner.
