I surely hope your son took a long break to play in the snow, and got others to go out and play with him. :)

When we lived in Midland we would go to the mtns in New Mexico in the winter, and then when in California (both B'field and L.A.) would do the same up into the CA mtns for snow. my parents neither grew up with snow and I don't know if they like it so much or just did it for us. we did a bit of sking but the greatest fun to me was the intertube runs we'd build... with curves and jumps.

Your dinner is sounding better and better. and if he is going to clean up after, he must be very serious about it.

Salsilito? where you take the ferry across with the Golden Gate on your side? or did you sail towards the East Bay? either is a cold journey. and SF cold in summer. but it's a bit like the odd snow in other places... when a hot sunny day would hit in SF and especially if the warmth lastest into evening, I loved to walk around the neighborhoods and see people swarming out onto their porches and the streets in their shorts like they'd just been saved.
