We visited a couple of Civil War battlefields, where all the statues seemed to be of Southern Generals. I thought that was very curious.

We were down by the White House this afternoon. In Lafayette Park, directly across from the White House is a large equestrian statute, both horse's feet raised in the air (remember what Sgt. Hall told my daughters about this). The statue was labeled only "Jackson." Got me wondering, was it a statue to Stonewall Jackson? I just figured it out - DOH! - it's a statue of Andrew Jackson. Now, what's that say about the convention that both horse's legs in the air mean he died in battle? Don't believe he did.
