Hawk, point taken on arab casualties - i'll go with your number of casualties since the the war started.

what number would that be?

>>The hell I can't.. There are plots every day, some made public, but most remain classified, attempting to strike this country.<<

you missed the point. the point was that there are two paths to take and it impossible to compare the two over the long term, regardless of which one is chosen. why? b/c you can only choose one of the two choices and will never know the results of doing the other.

>>We all ignored the declarations and Fatwas by Bin Ladin and Zawahiri. We ignored Bin Ladin's declaration of war against the US in 1996.<<

you are quite confused about my POV if you think i support doing nothing in the face of actionable information regarding an attack on america. i've never suggested anything remotely close to that.

>>What we need to do is continue to support a "reformation" within Islam, one that Christianity went through many hundreds of years ago. There is a civil war for the soul of Islam and either the moderates, or the militants, are going to win it.

Pray it's the moderates.<<

i hope it is worth the financial collapse of america, b/c that is what's a bit down the road. i suppose when we stick the rest of the world in the eye when we default on our debt that we will reduce extremist views for dead beat america, right?

or not. context is *everything*.
