And you equate a sometime pot smoker with a heavy drinker? And who "glorifies" pot? Please don't include me in the "you all"- because it is inapt. I merely find pot to be better than alcohol- because of alcohol's amazing propensity to bring out rage and violence in people, and it's link with driving deaths. Please try to remember that- when you feel the need to bristle. I bristle when people tell me I've glorified something I haven't. Your example is just so odd. So you've got a guy, probably a perfectly good guy, who gets a job, and the only reason he gets fired is because he tests positive for pot. Do you think maybe there's a problem with drug testing, rather than with the guy? I mean if he can't do his job, fine, fire him- but trace opiates? And what's the connection to never hiring a pot smoker? I can understand not hiring a heavy pot smoker or a heavy drinker- if they are drunk or stoned at work- but on their own time? Who are you that you should police that? I don't get it. And people have the temerity to say liberals are nannies. At least we don't want to throw people in jail, or fire them, because they eat cheeseburgers, or don't approve of gay marriage.
