Imagine:

If you are in your late 20's not holding a good job,
you are under pressure to support yourself and stop asking mommy for money,
you know you can get an interview any time and an offer,
you know many good employers drug screen,
and you still smoke anyway?

This is a good measure of someone who has a problem with addiction. It also explains mommies and his fiance's concerns about his lack of ambition.

I dont really care what people do at home as long as it doesnt impact work performance. For better or worse many employers do random drug screen and for cause. So if you are doing drugs and you have one of these employers you have a problem.

I have fired my share of abusers after they were given chances in rehab with paid leave generally.

If I have two candidates for a position equal in most every aspect, but one is very overweight and the other is thin, guess what?

Employers care about making money. Performance is important and if you have a hint of a behavior disorder you will be at a disadvantage.
