Because of this, Obama has created a nagging suspicion that all the chaos we see on a daily basis from the Dems is on purpose....it isn't an accident. They are creating chaos, so it will appear they fixed it before the election in 2012.
I think the chaos is a side-effect of their Alinskyite tactics.
First, they are trying to throw everything at the wall to see what sticks, in an effort to keep their opponents off-balance. Their ambitions are as grand as the galaxy and they know their time for action is brief.
Second, I think they are managing to keep themselves more off-balance than their opponents. The stimulus, omnibus, and budget bills were relatively easy, because invitations to spend money on their favorite pork projects are the fun stuff for Congress. Cap'n'trade and Health Care Reform are miserable, because there they have to try to craft a single package, and the infighting is fierce. Cap'n'Trade is already DOA because of it.
Plus, having spent so much before, now they have to be aware of costs, and waste effort on accounting shenanigans, and boy, have they thought up some lulus. They are desperate to do Health Care, since they staked so much on it and now they think it's their life raft, but it's like herding cats in the Senate and public support is going down, down, down.
Observers keep saying they'll pass something, but I really don't know if they will or not. At any rate, it's a far, far cry from the bill just sailing through Congress in two weeks the way Obama envisioned last summer. |
