Maxwell, you said A good number for the demand of DUV excimer steppers comes from VLSI's research. They project the demand for the DUV excimer steppers for 1998 be 700. I still think the actual number will be much higher as the industry is racing to get to the .25um and 300mm.

Is it also your opinion that the stepper companies will collectively be able to build and ship that many steppers in 98? And if so why? The Morgan Stanley analyst in his 10/24 report went on and on about how he thought the stepper companies were overly optimistic in the number of steppers they could deliver. However, he didn't give a good explanation as to why he thought that way. I'm assuming he's basing it on the fact that Nikon is finding it harder to build these tools than they thought so everyone must be having problems.

Thanks again,
Gary.
