That is a fascinating study. That reflects the experience within our family. The traits as infants presaged the traits as adolescents and young adults. I'll backpedal a bit on my position, recognizing that crack babies and gestationally challenged individuals may go on to manifest disease that was precipitated by conditions. WRT vets and alcohol/drugs... I can say that the Navy I enlisted into after Vietnam (around 1976) had a culture that in effect promoted alcoholism and binge drinking. There is no other way to describe it and this was after the period of combat had ended.
