You should read that book Amelia. It will give you a new found respect for those warm periods. I once hitchhiked with 3 other friends from Aspen Colo to Basalt Colo at 2:00 am in what became one of that state's coldest periods. The thermometer registered -40 below that night. Fortunately the sky was clear. If it had been snowing we could have all died.
