One last comment -- it occurs to me that this whole Climategate thing is the equivalent of the Piltdown Man affair. Although this was a hoax perpetrated by a scientist, the theory of evolution of man from apes stands unchallenged by those who use science as a guide rather than religion. When the hoax was unmasked there was much controversy and the anti-evolution crowd tried to use it as a weapon of debate, but no one even remembers it today unless they like me are a real science nerd.

What I was reading while this occurred to me was an article about a study of aerial photographs of glaciers which showed that glacial coverage on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies decreased 29% between 1985 and 2005, while the glaciers in BC shrank 'only' 11% during that period. (The article also points out that the current rate of melting vastly exceeds the rates at the end of the Little Ice Age 7000 years ago, or at the end of any other Ice Age for that matter.) It is going to get very interesting for the Canadian Prairies and American Southwest when in a few years there is little or no runoff from melting glaciers in the summer. Much agriculture will become impossible, and it won't be easy living there either. vancouversun.com

OK, back to making money!
