Wrong. The govt. looks after PUBLIC interest. Govt. funding for research on issues in the public interest is not a conflict of interest. The deniers wish that the govt. cuts off funding so the research is stopped and it goes away. They don't care if the problem is real or not. They just want it to go away, period.
