[First Snow in 30 Years] Sacramento Freezing Temps Prompt Emergency Homeless Shelter Opening News10 December 06, 2009 11 news10.net SACRAMENTO, CA - With bone-chilling temperatures and the possibility of Sacramento snow in the forecast beginning Sunday night, Sacramento's Loaves and Fishes announced the opening of a temporary shelter for the homeless. The Delaney Center at 12th and Ahern streets in Sacramento was expected to open at 7 p.m. Sunday and could accomodate up to 50 people, according to Loaves and Fishes pastor David Moss. "This isn't just bone-chilling weather. This is life-threatening weather," Moss said. Forecasts called for temperatures to drop to 32 degrees Sunday night.
