Fire 1 in the US, hire 10 in India and China, import products,
mark them up 200%, get productivity gain (1 US worker fired, the
only one who counts) and some GDP growth (marked up goods are
part of GDP). We are all connected. I have not seen virtually
anything made in USA lately. I guess, if they fire everyone
in the US, productivity would have to go to infinity by that
metric. In other words, when we ship industry to China, we do
increase productivity a great deal, and falling gadget prices
confirm that trend. -g-
