>Mr. Obama ran for president supportive of the so-called good war in Afghanistan and vowing to send more troops, but he talked about it primarily as a way of attacking Republicans for diverting resources to Iraq, which he described as a war of choice. Only after taking office, as casualties mounted and the Taliban gained momentum, did Mr. Obama really begin to confront what to do.<
An excerpt from a Dec 5 NYT article about Obama's decision on Assagain.

I am following the line of thought O gave us to justify the surge >> By moving the bell curve to the left, Mr. Obama decided to send 30,000 troops mostly in the next six months and then begin pulling them out a year after that, betting that a quick jolt of extra forces could knock the enemy back on its heels enough for the Afghans to take over the fight.<<
and I come to this conclusion. When we pull out, the two side that will remain will be on the one hand the puppet government & all the Afgans who supported the US & profited from it vs the victors who opposed the US. The puppets will flee the country to their Swiss bank accounts; the lower level will probably be killed; and the oil companies will pay off the Taliban to keep the pipelines intact. This training of an Afghan army to take over the fight is not only fiction, it's idiocy, lunatic imagination at work. What a crock!!!!!!!!!!
