A couple years ago our vet (in Seattle) told us the dog needed to have her teeth cleaned so my wife asked how much it would cost. I forget the number but we felt it was excessive for scraping the tartar off her teeth, so the next time I was in the pet store, I found "tartar control" dog treats. Got some and they work great, plus the dog said she likes them much better than the dental procedure. <G>
