I remember driving through the streets of Firenze. None of the one-way streets make any sense whatsoever.

I agree in general about chaotic driving in Italy, it takes some getting used to, but Florence is the one city where a car is not necessary at all...from Ponte Vecchio to the Medici grounds and back to the original David display and to the train station in town....everything is practically within walking distance...it's the best way to see the city.
