If so, then I am un-amerikan. But I am also traditional self reliant American ... self employed for 24 years and working on VISAs to leave behind a brainwashed serfdom society that I cannot respect. The other comment about a non profit to represent self insured people still leaves in place the enormous waste that medical services must deal with in paperwork to feed the insurance industry. That same paper blizzard gives govt an opportunity to steal what should be the most private data on everyone who visits a medical facility, an unforgivable intrusion on personal liberty. Make it a cash business and the prices plummet and individuals regain some personal liberty and privacy. Of course a lot of accountants, bookkeepers, paper pushers, computer programmers (now mostly in India) will have to find real productive work.
