John: I have no experience with options, but Ford's explanation is good enough that I think I can identify an appropriate trade. What I found last Sunday was that very few of the candidates had the right components for Jan or Apr puts. Perhaps because of such high activity and demand for puts with the volatility we were seeing since Oct. 8 or so.

BTW, I re-read Chapter 7 about once a month. It is definitely the hardest part of the book, and as O'Neill says: "it is 50% of the game, and few professional or amateur investors understand it." (paraphrased) Reading it in this environment makes a few things jump out at you, that aren't usually very meaningful.
