Wait a minute Hawk, don't get defensive. It is plausible that the Chinese are leading us to our demise. After all, Afghanistan is where empires go to die. Good thing we're not trying to create an empire. Americans have no appetite for Empire. All we want is for people in other countries to have accountable governments more focused on meeting their people's needs than fulfilling the folly of some unelected megalomaniacs with delusions of global conquest. But, let's say for the sake of argument, that China was attempting to do what the Soviets did in the '80s, we'd STILL have an obligation to lend assistance to thwart it. Hawk
