I just don't see that at all. If he was pragmatic he would acknowledge the problems that these deficit spending will create down the road and make that part of his arguments. Interesting. Now it looks to me you are saying that if Krugman doesn't agree with you he is not a pragmatist and thus he is an ideologue. By that token, I will no accuse Friedman, the Austrians, et al, of simply being ideologues. Because I disagree with them. There is a huge difference between having a political point of view, which we all do, and distorting the world to fit your political point of view which is an ideology (rather crudely put, I'm afraid).
