Is it possible she is hidden well in the garage? I have an older cat who has taken to concealing himself all over in the workroom, and in the basement closet if I leave the door open. he climbs as high and/or far back as he can on shelves and snuggles into things. and he mostly can't hear now, so doesn't hear me calling and I have to scour and scour until I find him.
