If you continually redefine centrist, then yes, you will always have a centrist President.

Getting into those weeds takes us back to far too many thread debates/discussions as to the meaning of "center" and "centrist."

But to short cut as much of that as possible, I completely subscribe to the notion that "centrist" is always defined by the available political possibilities. It's always middle of the road between alternatives. Since the times, the issues, the dilemmas, all change, "center" and "centrist" will always change.
