So you would be ok if your town took your land to build a row of apartments. If they were discussing the law you would not make any attempt to convince them to reconsider.

Of course I might (depends on the price!) try to fight it. In the end, if I did fight it, a judge would decide. And I would live with the rule of law, as would any good citizen.

BTW when I was young the Army Corp of Engineers took over 5000 acres from my family to flood for a recreational lake. Were we happy? Not even close. Did we get fair compensation? Yeah, but got screwed in other ways.
