But here, Maoris are the equivalent of Quebecois and Algonquin etc and get special privileges, which are supposedly just Treaty of Waitangi agreements, but that silly apartheid agreement was good for only a short time. Now it has become a racist artifact with the meaning of it ignored.

Ironically, it could be a good weapon of individual sovereignty against government depredations [though nobody but me has thought it as far as I know]. It could lead to individual Tradable Citizenships [I hope though that's hardly a well-thought-through idea = more of a passing thought as a possibility worth investigating some time].
