Can anyone give a quick lesson in ancient MU history? I was researching biographical info for the TKAF line (I have to include a biography of our hero <g>) last night and I came across an item which I read as an allusion to some sort of disagreement re: Mu's direction, specifically Lehi, circa 1995 (think the piece was somewhere in the MF archives).

Was there ever a disagreement over starting Lehi between Appleton and Simplot and/or some members of the BOD? Who was pushing for Lehi at the time and who was voicing caution? Did Lehi occur on Appleton's watch as CEO? And if it did, could it have been more of a case of management being pressured into a decision it may have thought was wrong by people who should have just left management alone?

I'm asking because if part of the criticism of Appleton and his upper management team is tied to Lehi, I'd like to know how justified it is. I'm not arguing that he is the next coming of Andy Grove, but to be fair to him (and for my own sanity) I'd appreciate any reads on the decision-making at the time.

Good trading,

Tom
