Wiseowl....the problem, the REAL problem is in the applications which have to be rewritten line by line by line...an incredibly labor intensive situation which nothing less than manual labor will solve. Sun may be compliant...but what about the applications? Mac is also compliant as far as that goes...but it still leaves the applications to be dealt with. As for the old Cobol programs...there are an awful lot of them out there...AND if they don't work that's only going to screw things up for others down the line. It's a big problem...but as some have said...it's already too late to prevent a lot of grief.
One more point Wiseowl...if companies are spending a lot of money upgrading they're not going to be buying new Sun OR Microsoft products for awhile...their budgets won't allow it.
Hope I'm wrong. But I'm only relaying what others have voiced. Regards...Harry
