Inode, I can assure you that there are no shortage of applicants to med schools.

If we're facing a real shortage of doctors, it shouldn't be hard to fix. Just import more.

I think the problem is more complicated than just that. There are shortages of family practitioners, and there are shortages of doctors in poorer, less populated regions. It should be obvious why. Doctors follow the money. Even higher salaries in rural areas cannot lure them because doctors like to live in more cosmopolitan areas.

That's one of many reasons why liberals want to socialize medicine. They think doctors make too much money. Let central planning take care of the problem.
