>> What do doctors do free???

I've worked with physicians who have treated cancer patients free. As in not a nickel. Chemo drugs costing $6,000 per treatment, paid for out of the doc's pockets.

One of my customers is a surgeon who has surgeries on the books from 1992 -- the patients have been told to make a payment whenever they can. Some months they get $5, some months nothing. And this guy is a total asshole about collections, but when it came down to it, took care of the patient knowing he'd never see his money.

It happens every SINGLE day in a very large proportion of clinics.

And make no mistake, when a doc treats a Medicaid patient, there is an EXCELLENT chance he is working for free. Many clinics see a few Medicaid patients, yet won't even bother billing for the treatment because it isn't worth the hassle. And many, of course, just say, "No Medicaid".
