Sonki, In line with your thinking, a good long term buy might be Dallas Semiconductor. High? Low? Doesn't seem to matter. Diversified company with little volatility. Over the coming weeks and months (especially on paydays!) I will keep an eye on DS, and on SAP, which continues to intrigue me. Why Oracle? I have friends who USED TO hold stock in it. I understand what you are saying with regard to valuation and timing one's purchases, but, as I've said, I hate selling anything and have a list of carefully chosen core stocks that I want to accumulate over time. Companies I believe in, a mix of big and small, drug/tech/commun/oil, foreign and domestic. Novartis is about to join the list, next to BMY, which I alrady have. I have Wintelco, so will SAP be my next tech? DS? SAP is, after all, a $30 billion company. See the current Business Week profile. And, thanks for the comments about sw. Helpful. Catch you later. Tom.
