There are plenty of polls on one side or another. NBC's poll has people opposing the public option 46/43 for example.

However, the problem with the polls is that the pollster can ask the questions in a way that gets a desired result -- and we know all of the liberal media and most of the polling organizations (paid by the liberal media) have a desired result. On any given a day a poll can reflect what the pollster is motivated to MAKE it reflect.

The only poll that I believe is truly independent is Gallup and they say it is evenly split on the question of a public option. Fair enough.

But when you ask if they're willing to pay more taxes to get a public option, which obviously would be required, the results change radically. People don't want it.

And when you ask whether they support Obama's health care reform initiative the opposition is sound and angry. We don't want it. We want less government in health care not more.

So, you can find polls that say whatever you want them to. But even the slightest analysis of the underlying data makes it clear people are disgusted with this effort to take over 1/6 of the American economy.
