I think what happened was Lieberman was getting pressure from the Jewish lobby to make sure he does not lose his committee chairmanship on the homeland security. He backtracked a bit today.

That is why the dems should be calling his bluff and not capitulating.

Lieberman is Israels seat in the senate. They do not want him to lose his power over health care. So if the dmes called his bluff and told him either he falls in line or he loses his seat he would fall in line. The Jewish community would force him to back down I believe.

The dems are terrible poker players. Harry Reid and Rahm can kiss my ass if they are going to keep capitulating to Lieberman.
