Someone told me when I was young, real growth of character only comes preceded by disorientation. It's been true for me because it causes discomfort with the status quo and forces me to take what ever time is needed to think things through. Since then I've formed a puddle splashing habit which others find annoying and it seems to me I do it subconsciously most of the time. Most people I know are comfortable with the status quo even if they are complainers and everyone is busy busy (Sign says, 'puddle splashers will not be served').

Maybe, maybe not. As a whole I don't think much has changed over time other than better technology but individually maybe peops get better during their lifetime.
