>>> 6 patent applications covering molecular designs applied for worldwide: <<<

The sixth application was a provisional application, which is a creature of U.S. law, and is never examined and will never mature into a patent. It is not a "worldwide" application.

In fact, there is no such thing as a "worldwide patent."

What they need to do is file a PCT application, which is somewhat similar to a provisional application in that it acts as a "placeholder" and allows the filer to later file an application in each of the PCT countries.

The PCT process is way too complicated for me to explain here, so here is a wiki link for those who are interested.

Given how vague all the PRs have been, it's hard to know what they really filed. But if all they filed is a U.S. provisional application, they can use that to eventually file a PCT application or a non-provisional U.S. application, but it's not a "worldwide" application at this point.
