In reality it's the other way around. CO2 goes up after the temperature goes up. In other words warming is causing the increase in CO2. The 100 year focus is a complete red herring given past warmings have been far greater than the present one, the present warming is being caused by natural factors, and the current warming is statistically irrelevant when looked at in context of the history of warming and cooling cycles of the earth. In short we have had much higher levels of CO2 in the past and been warmer and colder than present with higher and lower CO2 levels.
