This is absurd. George W. Bush destroyed the Republican Party, by which I mean he sundered it, broke its constituent pieces apart and set them against each other. He did this on spending, the size of government, war, the ability to prosecute war, immigration and other issues…..

What's really interesting is that a year into his presidency, Obama has, on the points she mentioned, done no better (usually worse, and in other cases, no different) than GWB might have.

Just consider --

Iraq Policy: No change -- situation reasonably stable.

Afg. Policy: No change, although situation has worsened.

Overspending: Far worse -- by factor of 3

Foreign Policy: Far worse -- he has given Iran another year before starting this new GWB "get tough" policy. Unfortunately, even though the policy has toughened, it is still weaker than GWB's failed Iran policy. NK is just doing its own thing.

Domestic policy: Train wreck in every respect, ending with an approval rating just barely better than GWB's.

Domestic Security: Severely weakened

Fiscal policy: By a very wide margin, the worst in the nation's history.

================

I just don't know what Peggy is bitching about. Bush may not have been her ideal president but we jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.
