Geez, Hawk calm down. Read what GR wrote again. I believe I fully understand where GR is coming from. She's an isolationist (or at least presents such a "face" for the benefit of hiding her non-interventionist agenda). Listen.. I would love to just mind our own business. But every time we've done that in the past century, we find ourselves in a war NOT of our making, and losing hundreds of thousands of our soldiers. We just can't really afford NOT to intervene, where it's merited and we think we can actually make an impact. The world is full of sick bastards, as well as long-standing ethnic hatred and rivalries. And like gangland behavior in our "domestic" lives, when these international gangs start shooting up the global neighborhood, someone has to organize a defensive response. We're not in Afghanistan alone. Sure, we make up the majority of forces, but that's ALWAYS been the case since WWII. Would I like our allies to see the importance of dealing with these threats? Sure.. But I can limit our response merely because they are free-loading on American FP and military responses. Hawk
