"Fishing for evidence? Of course." You forgot the rest. Which certainly applies in this case. Like, for example, the "hide the decline" which you find so nefarious. When the paper was published, they showed the data with the decline, explained why it was wrong and presented their fixed version. So it was hidden out in the open with full explanations. Not so nefarious despite the spin attempts. I mean, if they were actually hiding stuff, they were pretty incompetent. How is that supposed to work?
