You're correct and you know it because you lived it. Ted never lived it and likely wasn't born until the 80's or later. (not a bad thing).

All I know is that despite the huge turnout of blacks in the last election in the South, southern states went overwhelmingly for McCain. And the percentage of whites who went for McCain was much, much higher. Now we're not talking FLA or TX.....we're talking ALA, MISS, LA and Arkansas. One can say that these states are conservative and that's why they went for McCain....but others might say it had to do with race. I'll let history decide which it was.
